Pirate’s Gold is a well-known marinade sauce brand with a large distribution. Their target market includes anyone looking for a tasty, rich, and fun sauce.
The problem: their design was outdated and didn’t communicate the brand’s energy or connect with the modern audience. It was therefore important to modernise the design while staying recognisable.
The solution: I created a new, playful logo inspired by the brand’s name and made it the label’s protagonist, ensuring high readability and impact. I translated the pirate theme into a modern-vintage, playful style while maintaining a colour scheme similar to the original branding.
The layout is structured to guide the eye: the brand sits at the centre, while secondary information is organised in clear blocks for easy scanning.
For the background, I developed a wallpaper-style illustration inspired by old maps; here, you can spot the sauce’s ingredients and foods it pairs well with. This adds depth, storytelling, and reinforces the product’s versatility in a subtle but engaging way.
