Gladiator Energy is a brand focused on clean energy drinks made without sugar, calories, or preservatives. Their target audience mainly comprises active males looking for products that give them a boost without side effects.
The problem: Nowadays, the energy drink market is highly competitive, and Gladiator Energy needed a design that could instantly communicate the brand essence and the unique selling points that differentiate it from competitors.
The solution: I started by giving strong emphasis to the logo, as it reflects the brand’s “warrior” identity. I then positioned the product benefits at the top of the can for immediate visibility and differentiated each flavour using bold, saturated colours. The tactile experience can make a real difference in purchase decisions, so I created a rough, slashed texture as knockouts on the aluminium, allowing the metal to show through and creating reflections and a texture you can actually feel, like real scars.
After the first print run, the client needed to update some ingredients and remove two flavours from the product line. I also proposed a few tweaks, enhancing the silver outline around the flavour name and introducing gradients instead of flat colours to elevate the overall look.
Beyond the can design itself, I also developed the 12-pack tray, the packaging for the 15-pack box, and created product renderings for the website to ensure a consistent visual experience across both physical and digital touchpoints.
