WAYFINDING

With Sport-Creative, as Studio Director, I had the opportunity to work on the Formula 1 wayfinding system for most of the 2018 and 2019 Grand Prix.

We delivered wayfinding design and on-site installations across the Fanzone and around the circuit.
For selected Grand Prix events, we also produced video content both inside and outside the circuit.

+ + + F1 DECISION SIGNS

After studying each circuit and following Formula 1 guidelines, we designed 25 wayfinding panels to be placed in the most strategic areas of the circuit. For each Grand Prix, I was responsible for analyzing the circuit layout and designing the signage to ensure clear and efficient visitor orientation.

In 2019, we updated the wayfinding system with a new irregular arrow-shaped design. We produced 25 double-sided decision signs, along with a dedicated set for the Fanzone. The new design was highly appreciated by both visitors and Formula 1, becoming a popular photo opportunity and generating strong organic visibility.

+ + + F1 DRIVERS PORTALS

Among the flag installations, one of the most appreciated and widely reused elements was the Drivers’ Portals—immersive gateways placed along the Fanzone and around the circuit, featuring all 20 Formula 1 drivers.

In 2018, only one set of these portals was produced.
In 2019, Formula 1 requested an additional set due to the strong impact and positive response from visitors.

+ + + F1 ORIENTATION SIGNS

After studying the circuit and following the F1’s guidelines and branding, we created 10 Orientation Maps to be distributed in the most important areas of the circuit.

From the study of the circuit to the study of the brand, to managing the design process, production, and final installation.

+ + + F1 DRIVERS TOTEMS

One of the most successful decorative elements was the Drivers’ Totems.

These consisted of ten totems portraying the drivers, which quickly became popular photo spots for fans.
Each totem featured four sides: two dedicated to the drivers, one to the Fanzone design, and one promoting the F1 app.

Following the F1 design guidelines, I was responsible for coordinating the design development and ensuring the delivery of the final print-ready files and installation of the totems.

Chevron banners in our wayfinding not only decorate the fences but also accompany and guide visitors through the circuit to the Fanzone.

The F1 and F1 Fanzone flags decorated all the circuits during the Grand Prix, creating a strong visual impact both on-site and on TV.

With excellent visibility, they guided spectators through the circuit, effectively leading them along a clearly defined path.
